Pomegranate juice is full of healthy goodness and it tastes incredibly fresh. It’s loaded with antioxidants, vitamins A,C and E and minerals such as Folic acid and Iron and it has been clinically proven to lower cholesterol and blood pressure. But if you’re anything like me and find it extremely incommodious to chew on the seeds and spit them out, then juicing would be the best way to utilize all the health benefits that this amazing fruit has to offer.
But first you have to learn the art of deseeding a pomegranate. There are many methods out there, however I find this to be the cleanest and easiest way to go about it.
Get any mixing bowl you have and fill it half way with water. Next cut the pomegranate in half. Using both hands start deseeding the pomegranate. You will notice all the jewels sink to the bottom and the white skin will float to the top. Using your hands you can pull out all the white skin, rinse the jewels a few times under water and it’s ready to juice or eat as is.
To make the Pomegranate juice you will need
-2 large pomegranates
- 1 cup cold water
- 2-3 ice cubes
- A strainer and a spoon
Put everything in a blender and pulse don’t blend for a long period of time. Use your mesh strainer to strain the pomegranate juice and use the back of a spoon to push the pulp and extract as much juice as possible.
